Procedures
  • We are collecting computers to provide computer literacy in the community for students in Brooklyn.
  • Old computers are welcome and desired but we do not want components, just fully functional Macs or PCs (only tech requirement is that they have a functional USB port so that the students can use memory sticks when home to transfer files).
  • Donors may not include any software that was not on the machine at the time of original purchase; we do not want to be involved in license issues and want these donations for children in the community to be 100% software honest.
  • To contribute to this project or find out more info, send e-mail to CLIC@chapin.edu; The Chapin School is hosting this Web page and will help coordinate this project, but someone from the Beginnning with Children Foundation will be in touch with you about scheduling the pickup from your school or organization.

Ideas and Links

  • Each student in CLIC will use a memory stick to move files back and forth from home to school.
  • Chapin teachers can provide training to BWCCS teachers either at BWCCS or at Chapin
