Installing FirstClass

Please follow these steps to install the FirstClass program on your computer.

Step 1: Download the FirstClass client program from the FirstClass web site.

a) Click on the FirstClass Client Download button on the bottom left of the main page to visit the FirstClass Client Downloads page.

b) The FirstClass Client Downloads page provides links to different versions of the FirstClass client program. Each version is appropriate for a specific language and operating system. Most users will download either the US English Windows version or the US English Macintosh version. These two are highlighted in yellow in the image below.

Step 2: Install the program on your computer.

Step 3: Configure your installed FirstClass client program to connect to Chapin's FirstClass server.

These images will guide you through this one-time process.

a) Run FirstClass. The login window will appear. Click the triangle to open the Advanced options.

b) Click Setup

c) Type gatornet.chapin.edu into the Server: field. Click Save.

d) Click the triangle to close the Advanced options.

e) Your FirstClass client program is not configured to always connect to gatornet.chapin.edu server.

Step 4: Login to Chapin's FirstClass server by typing your User ID and Password.
