The Kenyan Flag

The Kenyan flag has three major stripes - black, red, and green - separated by narrow white stripes.

The black stripe represents the people of Kenya.

The red stripe represents the struggle for freedom.

The green stripe represents Kenya's agriculture and natural resources.

The white stripe represents unity and peace, as well as the small number of non-black Kenyans.

The shield and spears in the center represent the defense of freedom and the many unique tribes that live together as Kenyans.
