International ClubOur CauseThis year the International Club is working to support the Face AIDS organization, a campaign to raise AIDS awareness of students and support afflicted children in Africa. Katie Bollbach, class of 2002, is a prominent member of the charity and is working closely with the International Club to bring this cause to our community. About the ClubInternational Club is a new development this year at Chapin, a combination of the former French and Spanish Clubs. The club will meet as a whole once monthly, and will meet in its separate factions every other week. We meet at 11:02 on Fridays in rooms 17 or 26. While we will continue to pursue our studies of both French and Spanish culture, as a joint International Club we will raise money for Face AIDS, have Fair Trade coffee and crepes the first Tuesday of every month, and educate our school community on the value of understanding others' cultures. French ClubSpanish ClubLast year each member of Spanish Club wrote an article about an aspect of Spanish culture that is particularly significant to her. In Spanish Club, we have supported Fair Trade coffee and its farmers from Nicaragua by serving it at school once a month. Now in the fifth year of this endeavour at Chapin, the program is as strong as ever as we are able to teach awareness of the fair trade coffee community and provide delicious treats to everyone!
