The History of chocolate

The origins of chocolate date back more than 2,000 years in the tropical rainforests of the Americas. The bean is found in pods on a tree.

Chocolate and the Aztecs

In Nahuatl, the Aztec's native language, Xocoatl, means "bitter water" because in its purest form, the bean is quite sharp, and was only a sweet item when it was tainted with sugar by the Europeans.

Making Magic, Aztec Style

YoYo I make a wicked cup of CoCo - Mrs. Doubtfire

Yes, you read right, the Aztecs made their hot chocolate with chili peppers!!

Chocloate's favorite holiday... Valentines Day... Is is a Hershey Holiday????

Well, the origins of the day acually date back to the Roman emperor Claduis who just wanted a day to celebrate love and of course St. Valentine. It caught on and now we celebrate it fully ((that is of course unless youre alone on the couch in which case our good old friend chocolate is by your side making its way onto your hips as you feel sorry for yourself))

Health Effects: Does Chocolate really have caffeine, and is it really an aphrodisiac??

Does Chocolate Contain Caffeine OR is that just another anti-obesity hoax?
Well curious readers infact the delicious substance known as chocolate does NOT contain my second favorite substance... caffeine (awww shucks, could have been the worlds greatest duble tasker)
Because in the Aztec culture the cocoa bean was known to be a natural aphrodisiac, when it came to Europe, it was naturally asociated with love and romance. On a more scientific note, there traces of substances Phenylethylamine and Seratonin whice are mood-lifting hormones found in the brain, the consumption reeases these agents and thus one feels "euphoric" Studies show that women are more susceptible to the aphrodisiac effects of chocolate than men.

Dark V.S. Milk: its on like Donky kong and the numbers don't lie....

Two out of every three people in the class prefer MILK chocoate and a pathetic 33% like DARK which of course is far superior

Props
