The Da Vinci Code: We know its fiction...but how much?

Skip the intro and start checking facts!

Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code has swept the nation with its jaw dropping theories about Jesus Christ, Leonardo Da Vinci, and the loss of the Sacred Femine. We all know that this book is historical fiction and some elements of the story are fabrication. But how much? From the extensive bibliography and statement of the facts at the beginning of the book one wonders what's fact and what's ficiont. Naturally after first reading The Da Vinci Code you want to buy into it all. We all love a conspiracy theory and its been popular before and will be again. Movies like National Treasure and.... end up usually being popular because people love connecting scientfic and mathematical problems like in cryptology and historical facts to create a new idea. The novel showed us examples of events in history, art, and other areas of common knowledge and claims apart from his statement of the facts page at the start that this is mainly true. Dan Brown strikes us as as expert and his bibiliography shows he has done extensive research however his attention to detail and wording of facts can be misleading. Personally it is facinating to see these connections he makes but as always its important to check what is true and what is false. Now is youre chance to set the record straight! This website explores are a few aspects of the book which I personally wanted to check into and I hope you find it enlightening too!
