Auditory Learning Style
Auditory
Students with an auditory learning style learn best through listening to spoken language. They have strong language skills, a well-developed vocabulary, and strong oral communication skills. Consequently, they can articulate ideas clearly, and they excel in story-telling. Quite often, their class participation is much stronger than written work and test scores. They tend to learn foreign languages easily.
Suggested Teaching Strategies
- As much as possible, try to use lecture, classroom discussion, pair/share, and small cooperative learning groups.
- To help with multi-step projects, encourage students to articulate the steps involved.
- Pair a auditory learner with a visual learner for group projects.
- Encourage oral responses.
