Neighborhood Map Machinehow to use your portfolios on gatornet ... orientation to several software programs below ... digital camera session at 1:15 and distribution of cameras to Sara and Wendy ... breakout groups from 2-4 pm (Class 1, Classes 2/3 and Specials) ...
- Tuesday ... we need to finalize list of EMacs below ... each head teacher needs to write a note to HELP with her final decision ... Sara will take charge of Shermina and class K teachers ... Mary Beth has more software to go over (Kid Pix, Timeliner and 3 more from Tom Snyder arriving today) ... I would like to make sure that everyone knows how to do special Mac tricks such as FORCE QUIT... PRINT PDF ... use GRAB and PRINT SCREEN later this morning ... also Web tricks such as favorites and multiple windows ... also, I would like to make sure everyone is aware of how to use www.atomiclearning.com ... I will have Neil join us so that we can split into 3 groups (smartboard for class 2/3, IMovie for specials and class 1 planning) for a big chunk of time this morning ... we will have an intro session later this morning on Inspiration and will split the group into JV and Varsity
Some general themes re TIP
- Launch date will be in October not September
- All EMacs for Lower School ... none for LS Science ... 300 Perry (no desktops) ... 302 Carolyn (yes 1 desktop) ... 212A Shermina ( 1 desktop) ... 210A Laura (keep 1 Emac as is) ... 312 Kam (Please move the Emac from 200A to the closet office in 312) ... We will go with 1 white emacs in each of the first grade classrooms. Katz, Allen and Lebovic (revised 7/1) ... Kindergarten (Each k class has 2 emacs.) ... 2 in each of class K and 1 in each class 1 ... that makes 9 ... then class 2 has 1 each ... that makes 11 ... then 1 for Carolyn in class 3 ... that make 12 EMacs in the Lower School
- Class K girls will have computer class in room 39
- We need clarity on rooms, projectors, smartboards in writing before end of this week; this includes the exact direction any new projector is going to be aiming
- Time will be needed to accomplish skills and projects in Classes 2 and 3
- It will be useful to have a weekly Cluster Tech meeting for each grade level
- It will be useful to have a weekly LS Tech Newsletter that summarizes K-3 Tech Happenings that is circulated internally like Diaries (starting perhaps December 2004)

* Neighborhood Map Machine for directionality portion of Geography Unit (girls already know how to use this program/might only need some review)
* Opera scenery on screen
* Timeliner for Biography Unit
* Smartboard for math lessons - games
* Design a postcard to send home from one of the countries
* Design a travel brochure to lure people to your country
*Videographer of the week - film a lesson; post on website

- Changing the file size of a computer graphic (Monday Class 2/3 group)

- Use of Atomic Learning.com, for example here is one for Kid Pix Deluxe that simplifies the
Kid Pix Deluxe 4 interface for use by younger children ... the general site is www.atomiclearning.com and when not in the Chapin building you need a login of C - - - - - and password of W - - - - (Tuesday)
- Webquests ... one method is to go to www.webquest.org and click on the left where it says TOP ... or another method is to go to Google and type in two words such as Lenape webquest (Monday Class 2/3 group)
